The Warrior Hoop Jam trophy is a statement piece that merges craftsmanship, digital fabrication, and expressive form. Designed and developed by Oxidation Industrial Design, the project explores the intersection of sport, movement, and material contrast.
The geometry was precisely modeled in Fusion 360, allowing for full control over proportions and balance. The upper structure—featuring two dynamic arms and a basketball suspended in motion—was 3D printed as a single sculptural element, capturing the energy of play and the tension of the initial jump off at the beginning of every basketball game.
The base introduces a deliberate material contrast: a warm, tactile wooden structure fabricated laser cutting. This lower section not only grounds the piece visually but also integrates a 360° rotating mechanism, adding a kinetic dimension that enhances the object’s presence and interaction.
Typography was executed using a Cricut process, ensuring clean, precise lettering for the inscription “WARRIOR HOOP JAM WINNER/RUNNER UP 2026.” The final finish combines metallic coating techniques to achieve a refined, high-impact gold/silver surface that elevates the trophy into a premium, collectible object.
This project reflects a design approach centered on hybrid manufacturing, material storytelling, and the transformation of a symbolic object into a contemporary product design piece.
